Story Beats (draft 03)

  1. Abbie is a girl who lives in a barren area alone. She sits on the shore, looking at the lively and vivid wonderland nearby. (SB)
  2. She looks back at the barren island, which has poor living environment.
  3. She is dying to move to the wonderland nearby (SB)
  4. But she doesn’t know how to swim; there is a strong maelstrom between the wonderland and the barren island, so the current in the river is too strong to boat. She is frightened by the strong current and falls on the ground. (SB)
  5. Inspired by the bridge on the wonderland, she decides to gather materials to build a bridge to cross the river. (SB)
  6. Abbie picks up her ax in front of her humble house. (SB)
  7. She cuts down the trees and pulls the tree to the shore, beginning to build the bridge. (SB)
  8. Montage sequences of Abbie walking around to build the bridge:
  • She is cutting down a tree with her ax in the morning;
  • She is thumping a piece of wood with hammer in the evening;
  • She is peeling the cortex off from a tree at noon;
  • She is binding the materials together with strings;
  • She is pulling a tree down.
  • The bridge is getting longer.
  1. When she feels excited of the building bridge, the bridge breaks down. (SB)
  2. She is sad of that, but she doesn’t give up.
  • She tries to rebuild the bridge, montage sequence:
  • Abbie cuts the tree down with her ax in the forest;
  • She pulls a tree;
  • The number of the trees decreases day by day;
  • The bridge is getting longer and longer.
  1. The bridge is almost finished; Abbie is excited to reach the wonderland. (SB+EB)
  2. She goes back to the barren island, trying to gather more materials to finish the bridge; however, the usable materials are run out. (SB+EB)
  3. Abbie comes near to a breakdown. (EB)
  4. Abbie sits on the end the bridge, looking at the wonderland with a helpless face. (EB)
  5. She gets up and struggles to jump to the wonderland or not. (EB)
  6. She jumps and falls into the water. (SB+RB)
  7. She comes out from the water and catches a tree branch on the shore of the wonderland. (SB)
  8. Abbie lands to the shore of wonderland in excitement. (SB+EB)
  9.  She walks into  the wonderland. (SB)
